Corry Brokken Voorgoed Voorbij
"Voorgoed voorbij" ("Over forever") was the second Dutch entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1956 - the only Contest where competing countries were permitted to enter two songs - performed in Dutch by Corry Brokken.
The song is in the chanson style popular in the early years of the Contest. Brokken sings to a former lover, asking him why their relationship is "over for good". She explains that while it may have only been a brief fling to him, she took it more seriously.
The Dutch Final was held on 24th April at the AVRO TV Studios in Hilversum, hosted by Karin Kraaykamp. The winning song was chosen by postcard voting.
